r --git-pbuilder indicates it would ignore this option. There should be
some way of preventing cleaning before entering the chroot but, as usual
with our build tools, there are too many levels of indirection involved to
make this easy to work out (iirc, here it's git-buildpackage → git-pbui
er version 7 or later, which is much more widely understood.

Why not? What should the poster do instead? (using pbuilder-satisfydepends
is a perfectly good route to installing all build-deps for a package
although I wouldn't do it on a real system, only in a disposable chroot)
