I'm happy to engage in a constructive discussion with members of the project on the advantages and disadvantages here. The few times you and I have talked in person we've had useful conversations and I think we learned from each other.
However, I need to be met with respect and a desire for understanding. If you want to discuss this issue starting from the assumption that both sides are working to make the best Debian we can; if you are willing to start by listening rather than shouting; if you are willing to take the time to understand the tradeoffs that motivate those with whom you disagree; then I will meet you. I will take the time to understand your position, I will respect your position even when I disagree with it, and I will try my best to consider and learn from what you have to say. Today, though, what I hear is that getting the last word in is more important to you than that sort of connection and growth. I am disappointed when I think about that. Sam hartman Debian Developer
