install XF-4.0.1-12.deb, if you -version X you get XF 4.0.2 but whatever..
the ati_drv.o file on the latest deb only looks for r128 and radeon
chips, so..
because you need to compile new drivers, you'll have to grab the source

Sorry meaning it won't work? I've had good reports about eepro's working
under linux/ppc. Some of those reports from Donald Becker.
Same goes for the 3com 59x (never heard of a 95x).
Hi,
Some PCI cards for PC machines works well on PPCLinux.
If the drivers for some devices is endian-free drivers, the devices
have some ability to work on PowerPC machines.

Hi,
I'm trying to install debian on a RS/6000 40p. When i insert the disk created
from boot.bin, it only loads something from the disk, removes the iconbar
from the startup and the screen shows "Power PC" (The same as during start
up).
It doesn't seem to react to keystrokes.
Anyone knows what's

which need to run a BIOS, but sho

I'd really like to suggest something, but unfortunately I don't remember what
your problem was :-/

I use Linux (recently debian, used to be linuxppc)
almost exclusively. When I need to view a
word doc, I fire up mac-on-linux.
This may be changing with an announcement on penguinppc.org
that the star office port is "finished."
My wife, however still prefers the mac interface.

Hi Bruce,
since I eventually figured out how to dual-boot my PowerBook with MacOS 9 and
Debian, I'm quite satisfied with what I got. I use Debian mainly for development
work and MacOS for anything else.
As for power management, I currently don't use it, as it's not readily available
for stable and
I used to run LinuxPPC on my Lombard laptop, now I am running OS X PB, which is
better than the "classic" MacOS, but still chains me to a pretty much
unchangeable system (OTOH, LinuxPPC had/has a nasty habit of using what appears
to be non-standard directory structures). However, there were 2 co

About the installation of a 7500, it' relativelly easy, when you know the
different trouble. You normally should follow the installation step, and
just at the end, change some details...
First you will boot with diskette, and create 3 partitions : one for the
apple need, one for swap, named swap,
you asked if i am using the latest debs.. i am close to it. i am using
4.0.1-10, and i rsynced the drivers, compiled, and copied and
overwrote ati_drv.o
i'll try the latest though.
