it look like I need some ... help, piece of advice or a word of wisdom.
One PMac 7500 with a 604e is already working as a local squid proxy with
debian GNU/Linux woody.
Befor that I got a 8500 180MP doing the same job until a disc crash. It
worked with both cpus, but I lost that kernel

You can play with the sync ranges in the monitor section, but so far

I'll have the same issue for the presentations I'll be doing at XML
Europe and I have just noticed that yaboot does pretty well with the
external video!

Hello,

Is this true? Does kernel 2.4.18

Excellent! I'm building now, and will test on a StarMax
Thanks to Jens and Rogério for their hfs-boot-floppy suggestion. It
worked just fine for me, as did the other disk images I made with System

My installation is complete.
However, when I try to start X I'm told:

Hello,
In the end I might ask some of the gurus: Does it make sense to allow to
change from kernel 2.2 to kernel 2.4 when the hardware isn't recognized the

Hi!
XFree86 has been working fine on my Dual G4 450 with ATI Rage 128 AGP so far,
until the last update of the XFree86 packages (4.1.0-14)
Now the X server is continuously growing at run time, below is the 'ps'
output for about two days uptime:

Hello List.
Okay -- I have managed to get an old world machine to boot directly into
Debian with quik. Yes, I did manage to find a mouse mode that made my mouse
move around the screen (imps2)...
But now: X won't start up at all. The screen goes grey for a moment and
then kicks me back
I don't know who to ask this; is there is any other e-mail address
I should address please tell me.
ltrace has recently been ported to powerpc, but it doesn't get
compiled automatically by the buildd yet; is there any way to force its
addition to the queue?
Thanks,

You're welcome.
I'm using the standard-issue Apple one-button ADB mouse
(attached through an Apple Extended ADB keyboard). Can anyone tell
me how to fix this?

Ouch!
Potato is quite old. Like Chris said in this thread, woody's X
is so much better (and faster) than what is in potato.
Also, getting a new 2.4 kernel

I'm installing from floppy for the moment, since the 2400 doesn't
