Hello. For the moment, if you're using the bk trees, you need to make
sure that the 'parent' property is set to ppc.bkbits.net or
source.mvista.com. If you're using one of the other bk domains for
your trees, such as ppc.bkserver.net, do:
$ bk parent `bk parent -p | sed s/bkserver/bkbits/`

I have a suspicion, actually. :) You probably need to unpack

in /usr/local/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/ and set LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH as

Dear all,
tks for help to all, i get my X 4.1.x working and the solution was
XF86Config-4 from Koos.
i compared my old config-file (dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86) with the
one from Koos and this are the differences:
- less Modules selected (Koos file)
- commented out the Pci-BusID (Koos file)

I am using 3.3.6. If I submit a bug report, I don't think they will pay
much attention to it. However, I would still be willing to submit one.
Since, I have never done so, How do I submit a bug for this problem?
Thanks,

Ok, I've got what may be an obscure problem. I am installing Debian on our
file server here (PMac 8500/150) and used a PMac 8500/180 as a test bed
before trying to perform the install. The 180 successfully booted and
installed without a hitch (save the poor firmware instructions in the

Roger,
I came across this thread on May 20th when I was trying to install Debian
2.2r6 on my Wallstreet PowerBook G3, Family Number M4753. I was also
stuck with X and it would error out. Since I wanted to run the stable
version of Debian, I did not attempt to upgrade to testing/unstable. I

Dear Debian PPC Guru's,
Trying to be brief:
As a total novice with Linux I've heard people say incredible things about what
is possible with linux. One problem I've run up with as a Mac user (but also a
Windows/DOS user), is drivers for PCI cards.
The Question:

hi! i'm trying to install debian on a ibm 44p 270 machine. it is a power3
64bit machine (any other details needed?). i saw that suse support it, but
they says to use kernel 2.4
as i understood the boot disks of woody are based on 2.2 kernel, and i get a

I should have looked at this a long time ago: xpostitplus is
being kept out of testing because it hasn't been built for
powerpc. I've just tried to build it myself on voltaire, but it's
missing libxaw7-dev so I can't satisfy the Build-Depends. Can I ask
one of you nice powerpc people to build it f
