I'm still trying to install woody on an IBM RS/6000 7025 F50.
I'm booting off the net via BOOTP/TFTP. The console is on a serial port.
I still have two problems:
1. The furthest I've got is a very slow - unusable - Debian installer;
the console takes half an hour to redraw a screen.

While typing in my laptop i wish i could disable the mouse while typing,
the same way you can set it under mac os x.

I've read the bug #131865 report about no sound with quake2 and am
wondering if there has been any progress with getting sound to work.
Anybody have sound working in quake2 on PPC? I keep getting killed
because people creep up behind without me hearing them

Try downloading the "benh" kernel image (look in penguinppc.org) or
google :-)

built for s390 and powerpc architectures. This happened because it was
rebuilt in a bad time, when libgmp3-dev was broken (didn't include

was because I used my own kernel to boot, and the installer program
probably requires linux keycodes, it did not understand the keystrokes I
