Probably the best thing to do to ensure you don't have extra termination is to
temporarily disconnect your CD drive entirely. The most likely place where the
terminator would be to start with is on your CD drive. If you find this helps,
then figure out how to disable the CD drive's

Hi.. does anyone know if the modem that comes with the ibook3 works
under Linux?
Secondly, can someone point me to a howto on using the modem to go
online under Linux? Have only used ethernet to go online till now but
might have to use the modem while traveling..

'ABCD' (as with every Shift key)
with the right Shift key depressed I receive :

I have a strange serial port / modem problem and hope that someone can

I am running woody on a UMAX APUS 3000 (aka C600, Alchemy mainboard).
When I try to use any serial port to connect to my modem, the modem's

When I depress the right Shift key and I the press a letter, the first time
nothing happen (ie no letter appears) and the second letter I type appears
