I am a Linux beginner with a Mirror-door Dual1GHZ.
I have tried endlessly to get both Mandrake or Debian Linux to boot on
this system.
I have 3 drives, 2 in the ATA-100, 1-ATA 33 (Linux Drive) in the ATA
66.
I have properly partitioned and installed. This last time I did not
even install 1

the nolisten but I still get "can't open display"
when trying to open windows on Debian from a

after I disabled BOTH RTC settings... yet previously, I'd been using 2.4
kernels
(non-Ben-patched/virgin/stock/unaltered/Linus's-tree/whatever-you-call-it)
with the PPC RTC option on, and it booted fine...

I successfully created an Apple_Bootstrap partition of 800k, created a main
parition as well as a swap partition. I finished the installer fine
(including making the hard disk bootable), went to reboot, but got the
