Hello...
I've upgraded to sarge, and I've compiled 2.6.0-test8, and when I reboot, I've
got no usable console. X works okay, but the console is useless, being
totally black, or some rather interesting combination of black and white
stripes. I've go

I downloaded the debian-installer via cvs and read the documentation. It
appears to indicate that there are two supported netinst methods; however,
both require a CD?
On a PowerPC CHRP system, with the boot-floppies installer, I was able to
boot the zImage through BOOTP and load the initrd wit

As some of you may have seen, there's a new version of glibc in unstable.
It has a couple of nice features - particularly for x86, where both
i686-optimized libraries and NPTL support are included. There are also
sparcv9 libraries. And the packaging has been totally redone for a number

Please if you can help me to get my 8.6OS to recognize the twinturbo pci card
installed in it. I have installed the new twinturbo control panel but I can
not get it to recognize the pci card.

Hi all,
I got a PowerBook G4 500Mhz to try out yesterday. It got Macos 9
installed, but I happily installed MacOS X and Linux. Thanks to
Branden's excellent guide this went smooth :)
I have followed this list for a while and it seems that ben's kernel
tree is the best to try. So I got that via rs

Hi all,
Got an iBook2 800Mhz machine here, running Debian, with 2.4.22-benh very
comfortably. Everything works (thanks to the good folk on IRC!).
I only have two questions, and would appreciate if I could be pointed to
some resource/help.
1. How do I get my software modem working? Most of the ti
