Alsa gone screwy

I had alsa working on my system, but the volume was extremely soft (I only noticed it because of a soft ring during the KDE startup). After trying to tweak this in the Control Center on KDE. Now on startup I get a continuous harsh static screech. How can I fix this? Thanks, Derek

I am running debian unstable on a tibook IV. For me, the OSX drivers are in mol-drivers-macosx. Installing MOL defaults to installing the mol-drivers-linux. Try looking for it using one of these commands: $ dpkg -l mol-drivers-macosx $ apt-cache search mol-drivers-macosx Look at the man pages
