The machine is an OldWorld G3, hdc being master on the bus, with a CDROM
drive as slave. Few time ago I lost a drive (head crash) attached
to the same ide (I didn't had the kernel messages, though)... I thought
it was purely a drive problem, but now I'm not so sure

its a 450, with 384 mb ram. running debian (unstested)
in macos9.2.2 dvds ran beautifully. but in linux
with mplayer they are watchable but not what i was

- sound really keeps working if the sound modules are removed before
suspend. (It was wmmixer that held the sound stuff still open,
lsof|grep /dev/sound would have shown it.)
- the problem with the trackpad button is just that the default tap

iso), burned it to CD.
The good news is the kernel works. I am able to get
into the install phase. I did get a warning about
modules being unavailable (ide-scsi and usb-storage).
