I don't know if the 3com works on osx.

Ok, the patch is now getting "good enough" for wider testing. It applies
on current "git" tree (or 2.6.12-rc6 when/if that is ever released). It
requires one other patch to be applied first:

Also here sometimes running 2.6.8-powerpc. The funny point is that
/proc/scsi/scsi lists a Direct-Access device at scsi2, but /dev/sda2
is not created.
