I want install Debian on a PowerMac I recently acquired. Unfortunately,
I have to make floppies apparently, but I can't seem to find any
instructions on exactly how to go about making floppies. Could someone
give me some advice here?

Has anyone had success hooking up external cdrom through the USB? Does
it have to be MAC compliant? I came into a Pacific Digital drive which
would be great to use on my iBook if possible. Of course, I'm talking
about using it under Debian and not OSX.

When KDE is starting, it goes through like 5 stages represented by
icons. Unfortunately, I can't remember them all but on the second one,

Will RealPlayer work on an iBook? And, if so Well, I downloaded the
bin file for installation, but everytime I enter the command to execute
the bin, I get the following error: cannot execute binary file
By the way, I did make the file executable.

On my iBook, it will now play a music CD, but there is no sound. Is
there something I need to enable so that I can listen to the actual
music on a CD? This is the case, whether I play a CD through KSCD or
XMMS. Although the latter plays local files fine.

The only materials I've seen on enabling the modem on an iBook are those
provided by Mij. If I understand right, his recommendation is
unfortunately very unstable. Has anyone tried it out with success or
found another alternative?

just finished installing Debian on an iBook, but at the reboot I can't
seem to be able to pass the video=ofonly line to the boot script.
Exactly what command do I need to provide at the boot prompt in order to
get it to boot right?

Basically, I followed the instructions for installing Debian on an iBook at the site http://cattlegrid.net/~christophe/titanium, but after doing the part concerning X, I run startx and get an
errors stating among other things that the modules pex5 and xie don't exist.
Anyone have any advise

and behold I got an x session. However, i get just the log on screen.
If I log on, it just returns to the log on screen. What's up now?
