fixes for Apple OpenFirmware 1.0.5. These fixes go in nvramrc. However, OpenFirmware does not use nvramrc unless you set the variable use-nvramrc? to true, for example by doing nvsetenv use-nvramrc? "true" This solves Andrew's problem, which I also had. Duncan Sands.

for the q key (or you can just copy across the file from /usr/share/keymaps). By the way, all this is from memory because I don't have access to the machine it happened on right now. I hope this helps, Duncan Sands.

I am running X 4.0.3 on an 8500 powermac (controlfb), kernel 2.4. If I use 8bpp all is well (kernel parameter: video=controlfb:vmode:14,cmode:0). If I use more bpp then the screen image is displaced to the right, and wraps around onto the left of the screen. Having the left of a window on the righ

I'm running X 4.0.3 on an 8500 powermac (kernel 2.4). If I leave the computer alone, after a while the screen goes blank. Normal! But not everything blanks: the clock for instance keeps being drawn, leaving a black screen with a clock on it. If I wait longer, eventually everything goes black, ev

I can see a number of differences between our setups: (1) You are using a 2.2 kernel, I am using a 2.4 kernel. (2) You have controlfb using video mode 13 and color mode 2. I am using video mode 18 and color mode 1. (3) I use the default framebuffer modes. This gives me (XFree86.0.log) (II) FBDev(
