I find the trackpad on my tibook to be more difficult to control
than it was under macos. Is there a way to emulate the macos trackpad
behaviour more closely? I'm using windowmaker. I've tried changing the
mouse settings, but it always seems a bit hard to control.

i've tried xmms - play file - /dev/cdrom and /dev/hdc . no luck.

if you are using gnome, there is a procedure that kills apps that take too long
to start up. so if oo takes too long it may get killed. you can fix this by
editing the soffice script ~/OpenOffice.org1.0.1/soffice . all you have to do
is put this line at the top of the script:
unset SESSION_MAN
