OT: Major Networking Problems

Hey Everyone... I switched DSL providers from Earthlink, which uses pppoe, to Verizon, which does not. I removed the pppoe package, and now can only connect to the net as root. My question: is there some way that I can go through the initial questions about networking without doing a reinstall?

What does "ATY128FB in console" mean?

I looked through the list archives, and found nothing about it. Can anyone give me a clue? This is in reference to the "No screens" question I asked about a week ago. Thanks for your help! Russell
