I'm attempting to use translations for some programs, but have been unsuccessful. I've tried various settings for LC_ALL and LANG, including fr, fr_FR, and french, but gedit doesn't use the translated messages. /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/gedit.mo exists. I have the gettext and locales pack
