so, I'm trying to view a friend's java-based website with
mozilla-firebird, and realize the java plugin's not installed. (yhis
is all on a blue&white g3 running sid). From the help page, I
understand I need jre 1.4 compiled with gcc3.2. But as far as I can
tell, no such jre exists fo

Not if it is the one I put on the YellowDog Linux mirrors in OpenOffice.org.
That was compiled with gcc 3.2.2 and does work with mozilla compiled with gcc
3.2.2 as well as OOo compiled with gcc 3.2.2.
That is why I put it there.

The current gcc compiler is 3.3.

Hi,
Not on YellowDog Linux it is not. You really should not have problem
interfacing gcc 3.3.2 with gcc 3.2.2 with C++ code since others have
reproted success.

It can't seem to find the mozilla libs (libxpcom.so and libnspr4.so).
Do you know why not?
I just tried using my Mozilla 1.3 build (admittedly old) with the Blackdown
JDK 1.3.1 plugin on the URL

and it starts up fine (although I can't read that language)

Because they aren't (and don't need to be) in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
I run mozilla in the standard way, i.e. the script that is in
mozilla/bin directo
