I strongly object to this as a general principle: Debian freezing is no
excuse for hijacking!
Seems you had several years of solving this issue, yet you waited until
just before freeze, and the option you came up with was to kick a
maintainer.

I would have no problems with that package dropped, but it streams MP3
files while ices2 stream Ogg/Vorbis files. So the package may still be
interesting for some users.
