Unless there are specific known bugs that _destroy_ data,
why not just ship it in some location not in $PATH?
Even if there are szenarios where it doesn't work,
having a chance to avoid restoring[1] the whole filesystem
would be a Good Thing, IMO.

codes plain gcc as the compiler. A cross compiler can be obtained from
