Dear Maintainer,
upgrading to the latest version of libsane reduces the quality of
the scan and makes a grinding noise. Downgrading to 1.0.22-7.4 stops
the noise and improves the quality again to make the output readable.

I had the exact same issue on wheezy, which was gone after installing (i.e.
downgrading) the package libsane to squeeze. I pinned it in apt/preferences.

Dear Maintainer,
After updating from Jessie, I found that xsane would no longer see my HP
psc 750. While updating I noted that the hpaio line was dropped from
/etc/sane.d/dll.conf, so this may have something to do with it.

Hi,
Just installed wheezy on an Asus F550C laptop. Trying to scan with a Canon

After starting, XSane hangs for about 4 minutes looking

Dear Maintainer,
I have attached a Canoscan Lide 110 scanner to my system that is running Debian
testing (with a bit of sid).
The scanner is recognized:

Hi,
a new Version of libsane has been released : 1.24
Why isn' t it in sid published?
Greetings

Hi.
When I try to use the HP ScanJet 3300c, I always get a Device Busy error.
Running scanimage -L recognizes it perfectly (device `niash:libusb:003:005'

Hi,
This is a heads up for maintainers of packages depending on libsane.
I have just uploaded sane-backends 1.0.19-24 which switches to using
pthreads instead of forking reader processes while acquiring image
data. Note that not every backend uses a reader process (thread, now
