The specific problem can be avoided with:
mkdir -p /var/lib/sddm/.config/systemd/user
chown -R sddm: /var/lib/sddm/.config/systemd
ln -s /dev/null /var/lib/sddm/.config/systemd/user/pulseaudio.service
ln -s /dev/null /var/lib/sddm/.config/systemd/user/pulseaudio.socket
