ago. Package kdm contains some user images in
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/pics/users/. Does that fix your problem?
I suppose it does. I don't have KDE installed any more, but apt-file
tells me that there are now 4

/usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/faces is empty. Should it be? In KDE3,
there was a whole directory of images that users could use for their
kdm faces.

When I lock my display and then try to log in again via kdm, the login
is always denied. /var/log/auth.log shows:

I should clarify that I have /etc/pam.d/other set to deny all
authentication, which is what happened in this case. Other users who have a
more standard password authentication in other wouldn't notice this bug.
For that reason I'm reducing the severity of this
I also have this problem, with kmix 3.5.1. Every time I re-log in, I have
to reset all of my component volume sliders. It's annoying.

I'm not sure why but I see negative number of unread messages after
I've fetched newsgroups articles.
After restarting Kontact the number is calculated correctly.
This may be related to the fact that I have set a few newsgroup
discussions to ignore.

Each time a user logs in via kdm, the event is recorded twice in utmp
and wtmp.
This is a known problem, and the fix was included in the most recent upload
(today's, though you can't have been expected to know that). Since the bug
only ever existed in the alioth packages, I'm closing this
The problem is in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc - you'll need to update that for the
fix to take effect (or simply set UseSessReg=false, which is the new
default). I really should have explained what was required when I closed
the bug - sorry about the omission.

When I start the ksysguard panel applet, it can't connect to ksysguardd,
because ksysguardd isn't running. I have to start it manually.
In KDE 3.3, I don't remember ever having to start ksysguardd myself, or
krdc doesn't work with rdesktop 1.3.1. Yes this is problem but you can
workaroud it by calling rdesktop directly.
Now krdc conflict with rdesktop 1.3.1 and there is no rdesktop 1.3.2
(see http://www.rdesktop.org - 1.3.1 is latest stable version) so you can't
workaroud it by calling rdesktop
