tags 523354 - unreproducible thanks I can confirm that this bug exists in KDE 4.4.5 (kmail 1.13.5) in squeeze.
Please check also related KDE bugs: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246808 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=233277 With a default kde installation in squeeze (mine is fresh) kmail is not able to sign messages. One must open Kgpg (which is a different program) and set it to use gpg-agent and to start with each session. Once that is done, if you log-out of the session and log-in again, kmail will sign correctly if you ask it expressly to do, giving a pinentry dialog for the password. Kmail still lacks a way of setting it to sign all messages. The procedure is completely counterintuitive, and moreover (due to kde bug 246808 ) it can mess up gpg config and make it unusable until hand-fixed. Moreover: the pinentry window does not show in first plane in screen but gets focused. This is more counterintuitive. Thanks to all Noel Torres er Envite
