IO error question?

I just installed DEBIAN s390x and the following error pops up on the console every few minutes. I'm not much of a LINUX person (z/VM) so I need a little help deciphering the message. My guess is that something didn't get formatted or initialized correctly. Thanks Tom [ 634.467707] dasd-eckd
