That patch is probably fine.

But I've prepared a build of petsc 3.6, which makes the 3.4 update
redundant.  I'm not sure that there's anything to gain by creating
 libpetsc3.4.2v5 at this point. petsc 3.4 is deprecated, so any other
package that would need to rebuild against libpetsc3.4.2v5 might as
well build against the forthcoming libpetsc3.6 instead.
