Perhaps we should just replace all occurrences of "Sparc" with "Spork".

I finally found a SPARC keyboard cable. I didn't find parity RAM, though,
and ended up buying 16M through MemoryX. It'll take a few days for that to
get shipped.
Perchance, is the keyboard electricaly-compatible with an AT one if I make
an adaptor cable? It would be nice to put the SPARCStation on

Please be nice. In my opinion, a non-dead lawyer representing for free
the point of view expressed in this thread is slightly better than a dead
one.

Perhaps one way round this would be to apply to SI for sponsorship.
That way, they could put it through their "rigorous compliance
testing procedures", and Sparc Linux would come out of it

Exactly - and note sparc occurs in over 50,000 URL's known by altavista
and in the format /sparc/ by over 7000. Thats why I passed it
According to SPARC Intl's lawyers the problem (at least in their mind)
is that when people see a URL like:
http://www.geog.ubc.ca/sparc/maillist.html
they will assume that SPARC Intl. is sponsoring the project. I don't
think they would have a problem with a project that was not computer
related

SPARC International's lawyers have the view that the terms SPARC/Linux
or Linux/SPARC (or most other variations) constitute an infringement
of SI's trademark. They would deem "Linux for SPARC Processors" as
acceptable. They also object to the use of the word "sparc"
