That was it. I had to do similiar for /dev/sunmouse
Now I get,
Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb'
(using VT number 7)
Fatal server error:
no screens found
My attempt at fixing the rgb error was to copy from a redhat sparc
machine /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.db to local /

That file (and lot's of other useful things) is in the xbase package.

I see,

any ideas where to get /dev/kbd ?
/dev/MAKEDEV /dev/kbd
returns
