See www.debian.org/Bugs and follow the links for instructions.

Can you remind us of the correct procedure, please, and where that
procedure is described?
The file /etc/init.d/network is, apparently, generated by code in
/usr/src/boot-floppies/utilit

Hi,
i was in a discussion and i was asked for the output for prtconv -pv
and thought that i had to install solaris just for doing an prtconf.
Then i was told that there IS a prtconf for sparc (Available in redhat 6.0
for sparc). Its a simple straightforward tool. I would package it
if i would be a
In looking into /var/log/syslog, I'm finding the following error messages
repeated a lot:
janus init: Id "1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
(repeated for Id "2" through Id "6")
janus modprobe: can't locate module char-major-4
If I had to guess, I'd say that the respawning messages
I'm using a Sparc 5 with two NICs to firewall/IP masquerade for a PC and a

Sparc, janus, is running Slink with kernel 2.2.9.

I had the same problem. The egcs and gcc included in slink a

Actually no, there isn't a binary
{navigator|communicator}-?motif package, check the archives.

Hurm... I thought the new makedev in the slink update (2.1r3) fixed
this. Doesn't it?

I'm trying to get some basic work done on boot-floppies, but I find
that we don't have the right kernel-image uploads yet for
sparc/sparc64. The sparc64 (sun4u) kernel is 2.2.9, which is old;
there is no plain sparc kernel at all in slink that I can see.
Can someone (BenC?) upload some sparc ker
Netscape is available for sparc already -- what's the issue?
Regarding X11 FAQs, I suggest you email me directly with suggested
wording you'd like to see on www.debian.org/ports/{sparc,sparc64}.

Hi all,
The linux 2.2.12 kernel compilation runs ok on my SparcStation 2, but
after rebooting i got a kernel panic (i think this is because of the use
of a serial console) anyone got an idea to prevent this ?
(I really need this kernel to be able to use libc6, so php3...)
Thanks a lot
