i've noticed with the 2.2.1 install kernel I don't get any serial port
problems or kernel panics during boot. During boot the following line is
shown on the console:
Boot time fixup v1.6. 4/Mar/98 Jakub Jelinek ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). \
Patching kernel for sun4c
Does anyone know about this?

I just discovered I can netboot my Sparc IPX from the tftp 2.2.1 image.
I installed slink onto an NFS-root filesystem. Now I can't quite figure
out how to boot it.
I have tftp enabled in inetd.conf, and I have a /etc/bootptab file that
LOOKS like (according to the man page) to be set up properly.
Hi again,
I still have a rather nasty problem with some Suns running Debian 2.1 here.
These machines are configured as X-terminals and don't run anything
locally but a rather bare X and (of course) the Debian base system.
The Xserver is started via inittab :-) in a way like this:
X -fp -

Serial console goes offline at 'init 6', does not come back online.
Runlevel change does not seem to work when 'debug=1' is set in
/etc/init.d/rc
It doesn't actually run the scripts. 'fixed' that behaviour though.
Why would the serial console go offline on reboot/halt?
