1. I've 1024MB RAM on my box. But when I use kernel 2.2.18, it won't boot
correctly
except I add a append=mem=512m to let kernel use only 512MB. Is there

configuration that I miss ? (I've try 2.4.0-test9 to test12, they will use

I've got my fine E250 machine, but run in trouble before thinking about
installing Debian.
There is no graphics card in the machine and I have to connect via
serial line. I found a searial cable which I used to connect a laptop
with a desktop years ago and adapted it via gender-changer

Huh, because we are at it. I'm going to install an E250 with 2GB memory.

because I'm not able to burn a Debian sparc boot CD just now I wonder
if I could insert a floppy drive into my brandnew E250 server to
install Debian from floppy.
Any hints if I could use normal PC IDE hardware?

Sparcstation20, but it won't boot from disk, and it has no floppy.
I got it up with the install CD (freshly burned from my rdist
collection) and chrooted to /target and installed man-db so I could
