Actually, it's by no means necessary to extract anything, and you don't even need SILO. Just type boot diskN /flash-update-XYZ when flash-update is on the first slice and on a filesystem readable by OBP readable. I tend to have a small external disk with just the flash updates lying around for

I have tried booting with boot cdrom /boot/sparc64 but comes up with something root something at the end of startup scripts it is a normal sun blade 100 but with 240gb of hard drives and 768mb of ram. And DVD instead of CDROM any ideas [EMAIL PROTECTED] Peter Millard

I have tried to install debian 3.0r0 doing the following boot cdrom /boot/sparc64 then a scripts start and end with something to do with root the only thing diffrent is to my machine is it has 240GB of hard disks and DVD instead of a CDROM and 768MB of memory and normal on board graphics any

All of the others are known hardware, so the only conclusion from this list is: The SunPCi card is behind the DEC 21554 bridge, i.e. on 02:03.0 There is little to figure about the card through this bridge, you can get the datasheet from intel, but I doubt you will get very far without
