Yup, that was it. I just recently began to understand kernel modules, but
in my quest to keep the image size down, I tried to

The last time I checked there was not a stable 2,4 kernel for a SPARC 5.
This that still the case, or can I get a stable kernel for the SPARC 5 now?

Yea
I am trying to use port forwarding on my Sparc 5. It has a 2.2 kernel. When
I try to use the command:
ipmasqadm portfw -a -P tcp -R 10.0.0.253 1723 -L 192.168.1.5 1723
I get the message:
portfw: setsockopt failed: Invalid argument
When I do:
ipmasqadm portfw -l
I get the messages:
Could not

I have _FB_ATY=y in my config for my ultra 5.

Devfs doesn't seem to be a problem, it was just the line before the console
error. I tried some of Christian Hopp's ideas, but I had already enabled
everything mentioned (The config on the web gives me a 403 error,
permissions?).
I have attached my current config (which still doesn't work).

Do you have devfsd installed?

Cool, I didn't know about that option, I should have looked into SILO
debugging more.
What I get now, is that it loads things pretty normally through all the
normal hardware stuff, but right after it loads the root fs read-only and
devfs, I get this:
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with orde

I have three Sparstation 10s, on which I want to install Debian 3.0 for
SPARC. Each machine has two SCSI hard drives, a Seagate ST 1480 and a
Micropolis 2117. The Seagate is at target 1, unit 0, the Micropolis at
target 3, unit 0. Both drives are found by the kernel per dmesg, as sda
and sdb. H
Hi, i write to tell you about weird hangs i experienced.
The machine is an Ultra 5 333 Mhz, running debian testing. I compiled a
vanilla 2.6.0 kernel. At the beginning this machine only had one of the
two banks of ram used with two sticks of 64 MB each.
Runing kernel 2.6.0 went just fine witht hat
