I am obliged to build a new kernel that has been patched for ntp
pulse-per-second timing. To do this you need to use the official kernel
sources from www.kernel.org at specific patch levels. Now I expect that
the standard Intel kernel incantation will not cut it in Spark 2 land.

Hi: I have managed to install Debian 2.2r2 potato on a Sparc 2 that I
plan to use as an ntp timeserver. However, during the install, the step
for making a boot floppy failed and the system will now not boot
directly.

Gee, I am considering the merits of becoming frustrated. . .
I have very carefully created the disk partitions sda1 /boot, sda2 swap,

I am attempting to install potato on a Sparc 2 (64M Ram, 410M HD). I am
using the rescue floppy and the root floppy and getting the rest via nfs
from a local machine. My background is Linux - mostly RedHat/Mandrake on
i386 architecture machines.
9/10ths of the install seems to go fine, but I canno
