from OBP, it produces the "bad magic number in disk label" error. I
did remove the disk at one point, but I've checked several times to
make sure everything is seated properly.
Thanks for any help anybody may have on this. Please let me know if
any more information might be useful.
s a bit outdated (the
stuff about mod utils in the woody howto doesn't apply anymore), but
it's a pretty comprehensive overview of how to build a kernel using
make-kpkg.
Feel free to do whatever you want with that deb file.

I then went to Radio Shack and found one of those nine pin dongles that

Radio Shack might not have them anymore but I'm sure you can find them

FWIW
I decided to google to see if I could find stuff to back up this

Unstable currently has a version conflict on the gimp in it which,
according to the maintainer, is the fault of a slow SPARC buildd. It's
been like this for several days.
Whatever happened to that offer on here a while back to donate a new

archive that? I think there'd be value in having a working archived
distro of the latest software (before abandonment) for people.

Hope I can get it working.
I have another question: I'd like to see if I can get USB
working on my Ultra 5. Anyone have any recommendations for
a PCI host adapter that'll work with it?
Thanks,

on ebay, but I'm afraid if the problem stems from bug 392312 or
something that's not going to help me and I'll have just sunk more
money into this project.
At any rate, that's my situation right now. Very frusterating
