I've still never managed to get it working. I've basically given up on
freeswan on SPARC64. Hopefully the ipsec implementation that's going in
to Linux 2.6
On my sparc woody system, /sbin/mkfs does not exist. It is not listed
in dpkg -L util-linux. It is present on other architectures. Is there
a reason for its absense?

Hi folks. I'm having a problem compiling Linux 2.4.8 and .9 on my
Ultra1 running sid. I've tried the debianized kernel-source packages,
as well as the source from kernel.org, with the same results.
The compiler error, which occurs pretty late in the build process, is
this:
sparc64-linux-gcc -D_
I can provide this if necessary. I've got it building right now. It's
on a SPARC 20, so it could take a while. I will make the build
available for download as soon as it's done. I can't upload it yet
because I'm still waiting for James Troup to create my account... 8^(
