I am trying to get my first kernel compiled on a sparc using deb-2.2.
I got kernel-package plus kernel-source-2.2.17 on my SparcStation 20,
/proc/cpuinfo says its a SuperSparc50; (and it should contain two, which
are found at boot with the default-kernel (dmesg), but not used - so I

Thanks all for your answers. I did a try and err-search ;) and finally
got it working. I copied the /boot/vmlinuz-2.2.17-sun4cdm to
/boot/vmlinuz, rmed the /vmlinuz-symlink and copied it also to this
location. And used image=2/vmlinuz (/dev/sda1 is /boot, sda2 is /) and
it worked... I still have to

I just got an SparcStation IPX where I wanted to install Deb 2.2. (first
Deb-install...)
Everything seems to work great, but trying to reboot SILO states "could
not find /vmlinuz" (or similar).
So I think something is wrong with my silo-installtion... I rebooted
with the rescue-disk, got
