Debian developers,
I have spent some time this weekend to update our xia01, an UltraSPARC
system, to Debian 2.1 (slink). It went very smoothly. Thumbs up to all
who contributed. The TFTP image is identical to the one used to install
32-bit Debian 2.1 on xia02, a SPARCstation LX. We have enough
sparc has got a working but _very_ old installation set (to be updated)
Yes I know that, but I'm waiting for fixed glibc/bash before working on new
installation set. I recently bought a SCSI CD-recorder, so I will also be
able to build try CD images for sparc.
Eric, I am interested in
Yes. I meant SunOS 4. I copied libraries of 4.1.4 and installed
netscape binaries for that.
To run SunOS 4 binaries, you only need to compile with support for a.out;
you don't need iBCS. For example, I use Netscape for SunOS 4.1.3 on my
system.
It sounds like stock debian-sparc kernel
DO I need iBCS installed to run SunOS binary under emulation?
I installed SunOS libraries according to instructions but when
I started to execute SunOS binary, it simply told: cannot
execute binary file
This is kernel 2.0.33 with Debian SPARC/Linux on a SS1+.
lsmod does not show me anything.
