2.2.7 hangs during booting on some sun4m machines. It would be a good
idea

I put new bootdisks to
ftp://lix.polytechnique.fr/pub/Linux/debian/sparc/exp/disks-sparc/990511
They hopefully fix:

know about the software used to load the keymaps).

A propos:
Could a link to Eric's ftp site be added to
http://www.debian.org/ports/sparc/?
And could ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/unstable/main/disks-sparc
be made to point at /
Where can I get these new bootdisks?
I tried to install using 2.1.6-1999-02-02 bootdisks yesterday on a SS 20.
Everything went fine, until Configure Base System
Every time I run Configure Base System, the installation process start over
(select color, keyboard, etc).
Thanks,

Hello,
I almost finished my work on bootdisks. I just uploaded a new set which
should fix the problem when booting on serial console and provide many new
features:
o 3 set of rescue/drivers disks:

Hello,
Yesterday I uploaded a new set of bootdisks still based on 2.0.35 kernel
(they are still on master in the incoming queue).
It should include all the latest packages uploaded in slink till Jan, 31th
(eg. ash 0.3.4-6.2) + the newest util-linux 2.9g-6 I built.
There is no new features, just
Hrm. What worked for me on my IPX was /fd;0/linux, FWIW.
The new bootdisks worked perfectly, BTW. :-)

What worked for me on my IPX (which I posted earlier) was to use, at
the SILO prompt:
/fd;1/linux
Which is directly from the `help' in SILO. I'm assuming this is taken from
the boot PROM, as /fd is a "shortcut" to /sbus/whatever?
Don't quote me on it though. ;-)

Thanks for the bootdisks, Eric.
I was able to boot with the new disks yesterday on my SS2, but only when
I entered "/fd;/linux" at the boot prompt. If I hit ENTER, then it
reported a read error on block 65 (or byte 65, I can't remember). This
must be a SILO problem with certain hardware/PROM combi

Just tried these and I must say well done.
These are the first boot disks to ever sucessfully boot my SS2.
I always has to net-boot in the past.
