I have an ultra 30 with type 5 keyboard (with spanish layout) and sun symbols
rules do not work for me on Xfree, not even the tricks about removing lines
or ";" in "/etc/X11/xkb/symbols/sun/us". Instead the following keyboard
definition does work very good for me, even the layout works fine with

i had the same problem.
It was reported as bug 286268, fixed in X SVN repository and is currently
pending upload.
Quick help:
You have to remove ";" in the /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/sun/us -file
after 'include "srvr_ctrl(xfree86)";' -lines.

I have installed sarge on Sun Ultra 5.
XFree86 apears to work fine - but the keymap goes crazy.
In logs i get:
syntax error: line 103 of sun/us
The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
