This is part of the build system for debian-installer [1].
The most relevant parts are probably:
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/d-i/trunk/installer/build/config/sparc/
Not sure if there are any docs, but there is a few with tilo (read under
/usr/share/doc/silo).

Hi Folks,
I would like to create a net-rescue-image (tftp) with initrd support.
Is there any witten documentation which covers this?
Everything I found so far eighter covers x86 or nfs support.
Does anyone know or can explain how the tftpimage from debian is created?
Cheers,
Klaus

I'm trying to build a custom tftp boot image for a series of ultra5's with
support for / on nfs and I've been having a hell of a time tracking down
documentation on the process. I would be deeply gratefull if somebody
would direct me towards some docs. The diskless boot howto on th
