It happened the same to me on Ultra-1
with Sarge.
With the CDnetinst loaded.
Either write reset at the ok>

cdrom, then disk). And then turn off and on the power of the machine.
Apparently, it was not the same

Hi,
Yes I thought about it, but since the computer is inside an internal
network with very few user, it does not matter much (I think). I'll
give a try with a 2.6.x.
Thanks,

Hi,
I downloaded the Woody ISO, boot it, install it, upgrade to latest
stable, and it works like a charm ! I don't have anymore
'hda:end_request:', only few "Unimplemented SPARC system call 188"
which seems to be harmless from what I've read, and a complain about
being unable to sync system clock

Hi,
the exact messages are (copy by hand...) :
Partition check:
hda:end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 2
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 4
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 6
end_request: I/O error, dev 03
The partition check errors are just informational I believe... its the
ramdisk problem that comes *after* this partition check message that the
bootup chokes at.

Hi,
If i use the testing-netinst the installation works fine if I install
the stable release. But when I boot up I've got the same errors with
the partition check as before. (see below)
If I try to install the Etch version with the installer it stops at
'couldn't find debs for ipchains'.
Any clues
Hi,
I've removed two stick (out of 4) of memory, and try to change their
slot (from 0-1 to 2-3), but neither attempt worked. I tried
with/without ramdisk_size=16000.
I believe the :

hda:end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sec

I've tried this, but I still get the same errors. Should I try with a
daily snapshot or the rc3 release of the netinst CD ?

Hi all,
I'm trying to install a Debian 3.1 on an Ultra5. When I boot on the CD
(3.1r0a-sparc-netinst) I end up with a kernel panic with :
Ramdisk : couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0
Cramfs: wrong magic
I've google a bit, and I've found nothing which works.
Any hints on this ?
