I've gotten the exact same problem on my machine since I installed Debian 1.1. I managed to trace it to some sort of security problem. If you look in the /var/log directory after trying to connect with pppd at the log file that just got updated, you'll notice that it states that you don't have

Hi all, I've problem with Netscape3.0 newsreader in Linux. When I do 'Show All Newsgroup', I don't get the complete(which I get when I do this in Windoz) list. I tried knews and had same problem. I don't use much of Windoz, so I would really like to make this work. Any ideas? Thanks in advanc
