I have a Panasonic (dot-matrix) printer which emulates an Epson FX-80,
and is working fine as an FX-80 under Win95.
I'd like to install it on the Linux machine instead, but I've been unable to
locate a magicfilter for Epson FX-80.
Does anyone know if such a filter exists, or know of some l

Except in rare cases, you don't want to run wmaker yourself. What you
should do is make a file .xsession in your home directory that tells X

I seem to remember a while back there was a discussion about whether
or not to include some rather large packages (i.e. ones containing
data, such as astronomical data) in the Debian releases. I think
the main consensus was not to include these types of large packages.

turned java
off, this did cure the problem At least I havn't had it crash in a few
months.
However, Iremember having problems with xfs crashing my system as it booted
up... so
I removed it, can't try to real fix.

when the modules load it fails to complete the IEEE 1284 probe. When
the parport support was compiled in I had no problems.

/binary-i386.
It's configurable to use multiple accounts, each separate settings,

Is there any easy way of maintaining access to more than one ISP without
re-writing the config files for smail and ppp? At present I use a spare
computer for this but it's not very convenient.

AFAIK linux supports at least nis-clients in traditional yp style _and_
nis+, for more info about look at nis-how
Question: is there any difference between the XFree86 that
you can get from the XFree86 site and the version that is
used with Debian?

G'day all,
I have 2 LINUX systems (one redhat one DEBIAN )that I recently
upgraded to kernel 2.2.10 the DEBIAN one will not compile unless I have
SMP enabled. if I don't have it enabled I get an error and make exits with
an error 1.
They are similar machines

i had similar problems ..the solution
1. check the ethernet cable is connected properly
(i have this problem 80% of the time !!)
2. make sure ..especially in the case of an ISA card, that u r using the correct
IRQ and IO address... use the DOS Utility of the card to check this... as on
