I tried it in this way: 1. connect from my desktop to ADSL, it works fine 2. disconnect the ADSL from desktop, and shutdown the desktop 3. run pppoeconf in my laptop 4. get the error message it seems the laptop cannot communicate with the adsl server, but I have no idea on how to check and fix it.
