A very simplistic approach would be to hook a different LCD monitor to
the same machine to see if the results reproduce. Although I am
guessing you would have tried this if you had one handy...

It runs a Neomagic NM2093 video chip. I have checked the LCD display
with lcdtest

The patches are released. The way that it works is that when you
`emerge` your kernel sources the package manager downloads the
sources, untars to /usr/src/, and automatically applies the patches
provided by the Gentoo kernel team. AFAIK, Gentoo does not patch older

Yes, I imported the CA certificate in my browser.

My Debian server got hung and when I tried to power cycle it , I checked its
/var/log/messages & /var/log/dmesg with respect to the time of fault occurance
to see what was really happened . But its 'messages' log does not show anything
recorded for about 30 minutes before its recovery
