Hi Five,
Well, I have almost finished my first full week of work, and only
managed to write for about an hour, total. Needless to say, the writing was
not inspiring. I try to get up early, but I'm usually too tired, even
though I try to get to bed early. Criss is very supportive, fixes dinner

Anyway, I get a segmentation fault when I run xwp (no explanation, just
'segmentation fault').
Is there a way to trap what is causing the segmentation fault?

I am trying to install WordPerfect on Linux -- it is set up to use a 2.0.8
kernel, but I am running Potato 2.2.12, and I get a 'cannot open libXt.so.6'
message when I start WordPerfect. In Potato, libXt.so.6 is in
/usr/X11R6/lib. Anyone recall where the 2.0 kernel points for libXt.so.6.
Any help

Wondering if anyone might have some insight on why my smbd server is not
running. SMB filesystem support is compiled into a 2.2.17 kernel (running on
a Dell pentium 166). Per the SMB-HOWTO, /etc/services has:
netbios-ns 137/tcp nbns
netbios-ns 137/ucp nbns
netbios-dgm 138/tcp nbdgm

I installed StarOffice (5.2) as root to an i586 running Debian with a 2.2.12

I downloaded the Staroffice binaries (10 files with an extension of .bin)

documentation from Sun gives no guidance; do they need to be renamed as

Does anyone know of a program to convert Microsoft Outlook
Express 5 mail folders to mbox? I have heard of one for OE4, but am not
aware of an upgrade for use against OE5?
thanx in advance
forgot to mention that I installed ghostscript as a .deb; went back to the
Packages for Slink and see that I should have installed gsfonts -- thanx
Philip, that was a nice nudge

When running gv (as a replacement for ghostview), I get a
Ghostscript message '/invalidfont in findfont' (specifically, Times New
Roman). Any ideas about where to get additional fonts and how to make
them available for ghostscript? (running debian slink, kernel 2.0.36 on a
cyrix 486 dx).

an lsmod, I get: slip, shaper, ppp, slhc, eql, dummy, serial, comm, bpck,

remove the module?
modprobe -r dummy.o ?)
