PS. It's good to be using Debian GNU/Linux again after many years. The
sticking point (that led to my giving up) has almost always been
networking, usually a wifi adaptor that is not supported. This time it
took two days for me to copy over *deb
roblem has crept up a couple of
times again. This time, I am at a loss.
Any suggestions?

I would appreciate hearing about any issues people have encountered.

Can someone suggest where we might look?

Is this a known problem? This looks crucial, but is there any way to
override this?
Thanks for many years of satisfaction, with the occasional self-induced

As usual, when I had posted, all was revealed. After deleting an old version of sane

Can anyone shed light on recent success with the Lexmark Z23.
Is Omni working w/ Debian (sid)? One mention found that this worked on a mandrake
system.

Is ti possible, or not, using Sid? There seems to be little of specific interest on
the Inet.
Apparently it is done, but Linuxprinting.org thinks it's a "paperweight." I would
really appreciate hearing from people who have done it.

I have seen some instructions for improving fonts in Netscape, often

Are there philosophical or practical arguements for or against using TT

This question also touches upon TeX/LaTex; I have also seen instructions

Alan E. Davis, PMB 30, Box 10006,
The amazing thing is that netscape on my sid machine DID have the desired
behavior, just like the standard FTP. Automatically, it started at the end of
the incomplete file on my disk, and FTPd the rest.
I wish to know what is the difference, since Netscape on the woody box didn't
exhibit this

drwxrwsr-x8 lp lp 1024 Jun 1 00:18 ..
-rw-rw---x1 root lp 0 Jun 1 00:28 .seq
bash-2.05$
I can print ok as root.
Can someone suggest which files, if any, I can change permissions on?
