Have you checked the wiring?
I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I had this problem two days
ago. Cups doesn't check the printer connection, it simply prints this
very "helpfull" error message.

Hi!
Today I have made a _BIG_, thumb newbie-error: I have deleted my "startx" -file!
I have potato 2.2.19pre9 with kde 2.0.1, no modifications.
My X-server is XF86_SVGA.
Is there a fast method to regain the deleted file?
Or can anybody post it for me?
Thank you in advance
Andreas
PS: Please do
nx in advance for the answers.

now I tried the following:
o Undo everything I tampered with (start hdparm, added "append="
command in lilo.conf)
o Reinstalled the kernel
Can anybody help me and give me help where I can get information from
(/var/log/?? perhaps)?
Thanx in advanc

nice tool ;-D ) I was able to locate the
problem: fopen().
ddd reported a seg fault on the following line:
infile=fopen("dir.dat", "r");
The "dir.dat" exists (in the same directory), and infile was deklared with:
FILE *infile;
My gcc-version is 2.95.
Thanx
