Can anyone recommend an 802.11g USB wireless adapter which is supported by the Linux kernel?
I am running the latest Debian testing on i386. Currently I use a device supported by ndiswrapper & the windows driver but this situation isn't ideal. For example I have to reinstate the kernel module every time I upgrade the kernel. And the windows drivers are non-free. And its all a bit delicate in terms of stability. I've spent quite a lot of time on a search engine (google) reading up on linux wireless support and reviewing the archives of mailing lists. I've uncovered some hardware compatibility lists & discussions but up-to-date recommendations seem to be rare. Information from 2004 is clearly not going to help me with chipsets changing as quickly as they do! If it makes any difference to the availability of hardware Im in the UK but happy to order online anything that would work. Any help much appreciated.
